1998 Harley-Davidson FXD Dyna Super Glide - vikemaster

Started this project in 2000. Wanted to make the bike look like it belonged back in the day.  Always liked the old shovels and Pans I used to see runnin around.  Started stripping down all the chrome covers it had and replacing them with real parts or parts I fabricatted..Had a vision of how I wanted it to sit and didn't get there until I made it into a rigid suspension using stuts in the rear ,Front forks are Ceriani. Had to have spoked  wheels . 21" in front and 16" in the rear attached to the chrome swingarm. I Put a new primary shaft in the transmission with a kicker on it. Feels so good to push down on that kicker and feel it roar to life underneath you. Almost as good as, well you know.Saves on the starter too.Stuck the shovelhead tank emblem on there for the classic look. Edelbrock carb. heads,pistons and cam give it quite the punch. P M brakes look good and help me stop. The Kuryakyn hypercharger gives it the air it needs and the Thunder header really makes it sound beautiful. The Ignition is Dyna. It Lets you customize the advance curve amongst other things. Nology wires deliver the best spark .I Put some 1 1/4  Apehangers on and a La Rosa alligator seat with a buddy pad(ha ha, like anyone ever rides on the back) stiched right into the rear fender to match. I have a kick stand on both sides of the bike so I can park it and show it sittin up straight if I want .If you look at the pic of the left side of the motor you will see a stainless steel liquor flask where the horn used to be. I keep my Octane stored in it so I have it whenever I fill up on gas. Did all the work myself, never been in a repair shop. Lots of fabrication has been done. I made alot of the parts myself because it is hard to find parts for a Dyna to really set it apart and make it different compared to all the parts you can get for a Softail.I enjoyed the challenge when everyone said "why did you get a Dyna?" When everyone was gettin softails. But now I have a unique bike I have created and it was worth the work. Thanks for lookin.
